Benelli have just unveiled a new electric scooter for the Asian market called the Dong, this new ev has been launched in Indonesia and before roll out in other key Asian markets.
Benelli has just unveiled a new electric scooter for the Asian market, and it’s called the Dong. Focused on the Asian market, the Dong has likely been developed in-house by Benelli’s Chinese parent company, Qianjiang Group. While Benelli are yet to specify which markets in Asia the Dong will be launched in, for now the brand has announced prices in the Indonesian market. In most cases, a budget electric scooter is usually not an eye-grabber, but the Dong despite its diminished proportions manages to fair quite well in terms of road presence. A large part of the credit for this goes to the unique construct of the rear section which appear to almost float above the floorboard. Joining the floor board and the rear section is what appear to be an aluminum frame that also connects the swing arm to the rear wheel which has the hub-mounted motor. The unique rears-section is contrasted with a clean front section. All LED lighting and a customizable TFT instrument display about finishes up the standard equipment set for the quintessential “Asian” e-scoot.
