Interested organisations and individuals can submit their documents in a sealed envelope to the Animal Husbandry Department office at the annex-03 building of the BBMP head office on or before February 21.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has invited registered animal welfare organisations and animal lovers to participate in awareness programmes aimed at educating schoolchildren about public health, animal health, and co-existence with community animals.
As part of the Animal Husbandry Department’s initiative, the BBMP will implement programmes under the ABC Rules 2023 (Animal Birth Control Rules). These initiatives focus on controlling the stray dog population through sterilisation programmes and preventing rabies through anti-rabies vaccination (ARV) drives.
The awareness campaign will educate the public on responsible interaction with community dogs and feeding practices, the prohibition of relocating community dogs from their habitat, and the importance of caring for injured stray animals.
Recognising the need for increased awareness among schoolchildren, the BBMP has planned 800 awareness programmes across eight zones, with each zone hosting 100 sessions.
To conduct information, education, and communication (IEC) programmes in schools, the BBMP has invited expressions of interest (EOI) from registered animal welfare organisations and animal enthusiasts under The Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960.
Interested organisations and individuals can submit their documents in a sealed envelope to the Animal Husbandry Department office at the annex-03 building of the BBMP head office on or before February 21.
