Bartan dhona is my fave: Rajkummar Rao on sharing household chores with wife Patralekhaa

On Day 2 of India Today Conclave East 2022, actor Rajkummar Rao spoke about how lockdown helped him and Patralekhaa spend more time together and take the next step. The actor also shared that doing the dishes is his favourite household chore.

Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Chandigarh in November 2021. The wedding was attended by the couple’s close friends and family. While speaking in a session titled The Rule Breakers: Content, Craft and Box Office Success on Day 2 of India Today Conclave East 2022, Rajkummar opened up on how the lockdown helped the couple spend time together. He also spoke about how he loves doing household chores like 'bartan dhona and jhaadu maarna' (doing the dishes and sweeping the floor).

Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa got married after dating for 11 years. Talking about being Bengal's jamai (son-in-law), Rajkummar said, "Shaadi ke baad pehli baar Kolkata aya hoon. I was doing Ulu'r dhoni for myself in my shaadi. I truly believe that everyone should get married because you feel complete. Patralekhaa and I have been together for 11 years, but the lockdown helped us spend more time together because earlier our shoot schedules would keep us busy. So, after the lockdown, we decided to take the next step."

When asked if he does household chores, Rajkummar added, "At home, I have a very normal routine. I portray real characters on screen, so it's important for me to be real at home also. We both do ghar ka kaam, but I have OCD so I want things to be organised and clean. Even if she says ho jayega, I have to drop everything and clean."
