Ankahi Kahaniya Review: Netflix anthology fails to weave magic on screen
India Today
Netflix anthology Ankahi Kahaniya narrates three different stories of unconventional characters. From finding solace in a doll to extramarital affairs, filmmakers Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, Abhishek Chaubey and Saket Chaudhary come together to explore different shades of love and comfort in an unusual way.
A realistic and unpretentious look at the lives of a handful of city dwellers in contemporary Mumbai haven’t we already watched several features based on the same concept? Netflix’s anthology Ankahi Kahaniya narrates the stories of seven bruised souls, Pradeep Loharia (Abhishek Banarjee), Manjari (Rinku Rajguru), Nandu (Delzad Hiwale), Tanu Mathur (Zoya Hussain), Manav Kapoor (Kunal Kapoor), Arjun Mathur (Nikhil Dwivedi) and Natasha (Palomi).
They are interlocked in a convoluted dance of infidelity, incompatibility, insecurity and guilt, but later find comfort in walking away from what they thought to be love. Flawed and floundering, the characters struggle with themselves and with the world around them. After heartbreak, separation, tears and some extramarital relations, they all discover, not happiness, but a semblance of peace.
