Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) president Anbumani Ramadoss on Wednesday (April 2, 2025) questioned the non-release of the ‘pink book’ for Southern Railway, which details the annual estimates in the Railway budget for States, including Tamil Nadu.
In a statement, he said the “negligent attitude” of the Railway Board was condemnable.
Mr. Anbumani urged the Railway Board to immediately release the details of the funds allocated for railway projects in Tamil Nadu. He also sought the release of details of how much was spent on the projects in the fiscal year 2024-25.
In a separate statement, PMK founder S. Ramadoss welcomed the parliamentary committee’s recommendation to the government that it is the “need of the hour” to raise the ₹8-lakh income limit for excluding the ‘creamy layer’ within the Other Backward Classes. He urged the Union government to hold consultations with the State governments and OBC organisations and increase the income limit to ₹16 lakh.
