In order to make the rail travel experience better for its passengers, Indian Railways has taken a very thoughtful decision and has introduced foldable 'baby berths' for people travelling with toddlers and infants. The Lucknow Division of Northern Railways experimented with a baby berth in coach No.194129/B4, berths 12 and 60 on Mother’s Day. The infant seat is collapsible and has a safety stopper. Anand Mahindra tweeted about the newly-launched feature on Twitter and he gave a shoutout to Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw for this thoughtful step.
Anand Mahindra shared a video which explains the feature and called it a ‘human-centric design’. “This is just how I would like to see Indian Railways differentiate itself globally: through ‘human-centric’ design. @AshwiniVaishnaw Given your education & experience, a lot is expected of you. But wonderful to see you lead with both head AND heart (sic),” the video caption reads.

Northern Railways' Lucknow and Delhi divisions collaborated on the infant berth, which was introduced on Mother's Day. If the project is well received, it will be implemented across all trains.
