Speaking to India Today, the complainant in the Delhi Waqf board scam, Hafiz Irshad Qureshi, alleged that AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and his close aides earned crores in Rupees.

A day after Amanatullah Khan was sent to four-day police custody in connection with Delhi Waqf board graft case, the complainant alleged that the AAP MLA and his close aides earned crores of Rupees in the scam.

AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Branch on Friday in a case related to alleged irregularities in the Delhi Waqf Board recruitment.

Speaking to India Today, the complainant in the case, Hafiz Irshad Qureshi, alleged that several people were recruited to the Board by violating all norms and government guidelines. He further alleged that some of those who were appointed were related or close to Amanatullah Khan.

Hafiz Irshad Qureshi claimed that corruption had been going on for the past four years, adding that Amanatullah Khan and his close associates earned crores of Rupees in the scam.

“We only asked Amantallah to do things legally,” the complainant told India Today following the arrest of the AAP MLA.

On Saturday, the Delhi Police arrested Hamid Ali, Amanatullah Khan's alleged aide, after an unlicensed pistol and Rs 12 lakh in cash were recovered from his residence during raid on Friday.

Hamid Ali disclosed to the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) that Amanatullah Khan kept weapons and cash in his house and that all the transactions were done on his instructions.
