Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 on hold, producer shares an update

The production of Allu Arjun's most-awaited Pushpa 2 is currently on hold due to the Telugu producers' strike. The film's producer has now shared an update on when the shooting is likely to begin.

The production of several Telugu films has been put on hold due to the ongoing Telugu producers' strike. And Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 or Pushpa: The Rule, which is a sequel to the hit Puspa: The Rise, is among them. Earlier, the makers had planned to take the movie on the floor in the third week of August, but now, they have decided to put it on hold. So, when are they planning to begin shooting? Pushpa producer Y Ravi Shankar has confirmed that they will wait for the strike to be called off and the matter to be resolved.

The producers in the Telugu film industry have decided to put all film shootings on hold until certain issues are ironed out. These include the rise in production costs, decreasing box-office numbers, regulations on ticket prices and the dominance of the OTT platforms. Naturally, all films, including Allu Arjun's most-awaited Pushpa: The Rise sequel, Pushpa: The Rule, is on hold.

So, when is the shoot likely to begin? "We have a strike going on here in the Telugu industry. Once the strike is over, we will start from August-end, or whenever the strike is over," Y Ravi Shankar told Pinkvilla. He further added, "Now, we can’t shoot because the chamber called for a strike for the producer’s issue. There is something internal going on, so once the shoots resume, then we will be able to start the film. We are ready."

Allu Arjun has clearly started prepping for Pushpa 2, and we say that because we spotted his salt-and-pepper look, holding a cigar, in his latest Instagram post. In fact, IndiaToday.in has exclusively learnt that Allu Arjun is apparently experimenting with not just one but two looks for Pushpa 2. "So far, Allu Arjun has experimented with two looks for his character in Pushpa 2. The first look is about the actor sporting tattoos and the second one is about him flaunting his ear piercings. The actor has been putting out photos to see how people react to his different looks," a source close to the superstar told IndiaToday.in.
