Akshaye Khanna joins Ajay Devgn's Drishyam 2. Tabu welcomes him on-board with sweet note

Akshaye Khanna has joined the cast of Ajay Devgn's film Drishyam 2. Tabu welcomed him on-board by sharing a sweet note on social media.

Ajay Devgn's Drishyam, which was released in 2015, was a huge hit. The film was the Hindi remake of Mohanlal's Malayalam film of the same name that was released in 2013. Drishyam 2 also features Tabu in the lead role. The actress announced the new addition to the film's cast today, April 30, and it is none other than Akshaye Khanna. Details about his role are currently under wraps.

Ajay Devgn has already kickstarted the shooting of Drishyam 2 amid his recently released film, Runway 34. Tabu also joined him on the sets later. In an Instagram post, the actress shared the news of the casting of Akshaye Khanna, best known for films such as Dil Chahta Hai, Hungama, Race and Mom. "Delighted to have a gem of an actor on board for #Drishyam2 Akshaye Khanna #TrulyTalented (sic)," she wrote.

Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran will be reprising their roles of Vijay Salgaonkar and Nandini Salgaonkar in the film. The two actors play husband and wife in Drishyam. Nishikant Kamat's Drishyam is an emotional thriller that deals with the story of a cable operator Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay), whose life revolves around cinema and his family; wife Nandini (Shriya Saran) and daughters Anju and Anu. Tabu plays the role of IG Meera Deshmukh in the film.
