Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee on Saturday launched a helpline called ‘Ak Dake Abhishek’ which translates to “Abhishek is now available in one call”, to directly reach out to the people in his constituency, Diamond Harbour.
This initiative was inspired by the Bengal Chief Minister’s massive outreach programme called 'Didi Ke Bolo' or 'tell the sister' which was launched in 2019.
This helpline was launched to commemorate eight years of Abhishek Banerjee being elected as the MP of Diamond Harbour. According to the MP, people can directly reach out and share their grievances or their concerns and suggestions.
Taking to Twitter, Abhishek Banerjee said, “Today, inspired by my leader @MamataOfficial's flagship initiative, I am launching Ek Daake Abhishek for the people of Diamond Harbour constituency. Through this helpline, you can directly reach out to me at 78877 78877 with any of your concerns and suggestions.”

Banerjee has also released a book, 'Nishabdo Biplab', chronicling his own performance as an MP. The book speaks of the developments that have been achieved by Banerjee in the past eight years, from tackling covid to providing water supply to households. As per Banerjee, his workers aim to visit households in his constituency to share the report card.

The matter pertains to a petition filed by one Nikhil Kumar Punia, who was born into an upper-caste Hindu family but supposedly converted to Buddhism later. He, along with another General Category candidate, has sought minority reservation benefits for admission to a Buddhist medical college on grounds of their purported conversion.

Energy disruption due to the war in the Middle East has exposed India's dependence on imported gas. It has prompted a policy shift mandating a switch from LPG to piped natural gas (PNG) where available. With supply constraints looming, the government is fast-tracking pipelines and pushing a nationwide transition to strengthen energy security.
