80,000 devotees expected to visit Vontimitta for ‘Sita Rama Kalyanam’

80,000 devotees expected at Sri Kodandaramalayam for 'Sita Rama Kalyanam' on April 11, with elaborate arrangements in place.

As many as 80,000 devotees are expected to visit Sri Kodandarama temple at Vontimitta to witness ‘Sita Rama Kalyanam’ to be organised by the State government in a grand manner on April 11.

Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy visited the temple, along with Kadapa district in-charge and Handloom and Textiles Minister S. Savitha, Transport and Youth Affairs Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, MLCs Bhumireddy Ramagopal Reddy and Beeda Ravichandra, to review of the arrangements ahead of the event.

Sufficient parking lots would be developed to park the buses coming from Rajampeta and Kadapa routes, and if needed, local buses will be used to bring the devotees to the ‘Kalyana Vedika’, the venue of the celestial wedding, Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy said.

“The district administration, the TTD machinery and the Police Department will have to act in a cohesive manner to ensure the event goes incident-free, in view of the huge presence of VVIP crowd from across the State”, said Ms. Savitha.

Kadapa District Collector Sridhar Cherukuri explained that the entire area was partitioned into 121 galleries to accommodate 12 categories of visitors. 47,770 food packets would be readied for the participants. He also expressed satisfaction at the arrangements done on the sanitation front, such as the installation of drinking water kiosks and temporary toilets at the venue.

TTD Joint Executive Officer V. Veerabrahmam announced to deploy ‘Srivari Sevaks’ (volunteers) at all vantage points to manage the crowd and also to help distribute the ‘Prasadam’ to the visiting public. Kadapa Superintendent of Police (SP) E.G. Ashok Kumar and TTD’s Chief Vigilance and Security Officer V. Harshavardhan Raju announced that the entire area will be under the watchful eyes of 150 CCTV cameras and drone cameras to ensure top security.
