U.S. President Donald Trump sent a peace plan to Iran as he voiced optimism on Tuesday (March 24, 2026) at ending nearly a month of a war, with Tehran announcing that it will let “non-hostile” oil vessels go through the crucial Strait of Hormuz.
The tentative signs of a diplomatic solution came despite new violence, with an Iranian missile causing injuries in Israel which in turn pressed on multiple fronts and vowed to seize control of a strip of southern Lebanon.
U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday spoke with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed the unfolding U.S.-Israel war on Iran. This is the first conversation between the two leaders since February 28, which marked the beginning of the conflict that has since killed at least six Indians in the region and impacted free movement of energy resources through the Strait of Hormuz, sending shockwaves across the global energy market.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Islamabad is prepared to host negotiations to stop the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran, after mounting speculation it could act as a mediator. Iran fired a fresh broadside of missiles at Israel on Tuesday (March 24, 2026), causing damage and injuries in Tel Aviv, as uncertainty swirled over possible talks to end the three-week Middle East war. Tel Aviv mayor Ron Huldai told reporters a “direct strike” had targeted a building in the upscale neighbourhood.
