The Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) has released a list of 400 colleges from across India which have actively participated to keep their campuses clean and sanitized. These colleges won the ‘One District One Green Champion’ Award by MGNCRE, Union Ministry of Education, under Swachhta Action Plan 2020-21. MGNCRE is awarding institutions who are making progress towards a ‘Swachh Bharat’. This is even more relevant now because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The 'One District One Green Champion' Awards are announced by the collector of the district. Notable names in the list are NIT Silchar, St. Xavier's College of Management and Technology in Patna, ITM University Raipur, National Law University Delhi, IIT Gadhinagar, IIM Rohtak, Chitkara University in Himachal Pradesh, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Indore, Lovely Professional University in Punjab, NIT Tiruchirappalli, Telangana University, Amity University in Uttar Pradesh, Loreto College in Kolkata, and NSHM College of Management and Technology in West Bengal.
