A KSRTC bus crash in Eramalloor, Kerala, leaves nearly 40 injured, with 22 hospitalized, some critically.
Nearly 40 people are feared injured as a KSRTC bus rammed a lorry near Eramalloor on the Ernakulam-Alappuzha border in Kerala on Saturday. At least 22 people had been admitted to VPS Lakeshore Hospital, Nettoor, by noon, a hospital spokesperson said.
A couple of the passengers have reportedly suffered severe injuries, including fractures, while others are believed to have sustained minor injuries. The bus conductor is among the injured, an officer with the Aroor police said.
"As per preliminary information, the bus was carrying passengers to its full capacity. Around 10 people who escaped unhurt were later sent in other buses. The rest have been rushed to hospitals," the officer said.
The accident occurred near the Kochuveli junction near Eramalloor around 11 am as the superfast bus, which was en route to Palakkad from Kollam, crashed into the lorry parked on the wayside.
