Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh receives accolades for his captivating performance as the legendary freedom fighter Katta Brahmanna.
Minister for Tourism, Culture and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh captivated the audience with an impressive performance as Veera Pandya Kattabrahmana, the legendary freedom fighter who resisted the tyranny of the British East India Company and shone as a revolutionary figure in the history of India’s freedom struggle.
After the Assembly sessions were adjourned indefinitely on Friday (March 6, 2026), a cultural and sports festival , Atavidupu – MLA and MLC Sports and Cultural Festival 2026, was organised that evening for public representatives in Vijayawada.
The hall erupted in a thunderous applause as Minister Durgesh stepped onto the stage in a traditional costume of Katta Brahmanna.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Assembly Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu and other Ministers and public representatives, who watched the performance, heaped praises on Minister Durgesh for his acting skills.
Mr. Durgesh said it was a great honour for him to get an opportunity to portray the role of Katta Brahmanna, who was a symbol of patriotism.
