19-yr-old Uttarakhand boy’s brother reacts after his midnight run video goes viral

Pradeep Mehra, a 19-yr-old boy from Uttarakhand, has become an internet sensation after his midnight run video went viral. His brother Pankaj has now reacted.

Pradeep Mehra, who sent the internet into an overdrive after his midnight run video went viral on Monday, has received a whole lot of love online. Filmmaker Vinod Kapri posted the video on Twitter following his interaction with Pradeep whom he spotted running on a road in Noida at midnight. As the video went viral with over 6 million views, Pradeep’s brother Pankaj Mehra reacted during an interview with Aaj Tak and said that he is absolutely ecstatic.

Pradeep, 19, aspires to join the army and has been preparing since the past two years, Pankaj told Aaj Tak.

“I am very happy as my brother’s video has gone viral. Pradeep runs home from work every day and covers a distance of 10 km from Noida Sector 16 to Barola. He has been practising since the past one year because he aspires to join the army,” Pankaj said.

Their mother is currently hospitalised and both Pankaj and Pradeep are working at a McDonald's outlet in Noida’s Sector 16 to help their family.

“We are currently facing a financial crisis, so both of us are working at McDonald's to help our family. Our mother is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Delhi,” Pankaj added.

Pradeep was spotted by Vinod Kapri while the latter was driving past the boy running on the sidewalk in Noida at midnight over the weekend. Although Kapri offered Pradeep a lift to his destination, he refused and instead opted to run 10 km.

“I want to join the army,” Pradeep told Kapri, adding that he prefers to run home because he doesn't get time to do so otherwise during the day due to work.
