The 15-year-old girl from Palakkad in Kerala, who went missing near Manikyadhara in Chikkamagalur district of Karnataka, was found dead on April 10.
The police had been searching for the girl, who was on a visit to the tourist place along with her family members. She went missing on Tuesday evening (April 7).
Chikkamagaluru Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Dayama told The Hindu that the body had been traced, and the clothes she was wearing were intact. “The post-mortem and other procedures will follow,” he said.
Chikkamagaluru Rural police had registered a missing case based on the statement of her parents. The police searched for her with the support of Forest Department officials. They had used thermal drones in the search operation.
