A 20-year-old youth reportedly ended his life a few metres away from his house at Thathagoundampatti village in Manapparai police station limits in the late hours on Wednesday.
Police identified the deceased as A. Balasubramani who worked as a two-wheeler mechanic. The police seized a unlicensed country gun which was found broken in his house.
The election authorities are gearing up for the counting of votes cast in the simultaneous elections to Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh, scheduled to be held on June 4.
