Yogi govt shielding Union minister's son: Surjewala slams BJP over Lakhimpur Kheri incident

Randeep Surjewala has hit out at the Centre over Lakhimpur Kheri violence and said that the Yogi government is shielding the accused.

Congress leader Randeep Surjewala has hit out at the Centre over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Surjewala has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of shielding the accused.

Surjewala said, "Minister of State(MoS) Home Ajay Misra Teni is a murder accused. His case is pending before Allahabad High Court since 2004, the last hearing took place in 2020. An order on whether Misra should be tried for murder is pending since 2018.”
