In a throwback interview, Naga Chaitanya revealed how he opened up about his relationship with Samantha to his father, Nagarjuna.
Nagarjuna recently made headlines when he denied commenting about Samantha and Naga Chaitanya's relationship. An interview credited to Indiaglitz quoted Nagarjuna as saying, "Naga Chaitanya accepted Samantha's decision." The Manmadhudu 2 actor slammed these reports and called them absolute nonsense. In this throwback piece, let us go back to an interview where Naga Chaitanya spoke about how he opened up about his relationship with Samantha to his father, Nagarjuna.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya got married in a dreamy wedding ceremony in 2017 in Goa. After four years of marriage, the couple called it quits. The couple has now filed for divorce and the legal proceedings are currently underway.
Back in 2016, Naga Chaitanya told The New Indian Express that his father, Nagarjuna knew about his relationship with Samantha. He said, "The first person that I told was my father. The minute he heard the news, he looked at me and said, ‘You’re telling me this now but I’ve known all along. Our families have been very supportive and everyone is happy.”
Often, Nagarjuna calls Samantha Kodala Pilla (beloved daughter-in-law in English), while she calls him, Mama (father-in-law).
On January 27, Nagarjuna took to Twitter to slam reports misquoting him. He said he never gave any interviews about Samantha and Naga Chaitanya.
His tweet read, "The news in social media and electronic media quoting my statement about Samantha & Nagachaitanya is completely false and absolute nonsense!! I request media friends to please refrain from posting rumours as news (sic)."
