The multi-device support would let you use WhatsApp on your phone and up to four other devices simultaneously. WhatsApp has reiterated that each device will come with the same layer of security. Meaning, the chats in all the secondary will be end-to-end encryption. WhatsApp today is rolling out the multi-device beta that would give early access to try a new version of WhatsApp for Web, Desktop, and Portal. The feature would let you link companion devices without the need to keep your phone connected. All your messages, media and calls are end-to-end encrypted. Notably, only one phone can be used to link four other devices. Two phones cannot be linked in this multi-device beta test. WhatsApp however will add support for more kinds of devices with time.
