A waiter was tragically killed in Ranchi after armed men opened fire at a hotel over a failed extortion demand linked to gangster Prince Khan.
A late-night burst of gunfire turned a Ranchi hotel into a crime scene after armed men allegedly linked to gangster Prince Khan stormed the premises and opened fire when a Rs 1 crore extortion demand was not met. The attack left a waiter dead.
The firing took place late Saturday night at Hotel Teetos on Airport Road in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi. According to police and eyewitnesses, two bike-borne attackers arrived at the hotel and suddenly launched the assault, firing multiple rounds inside the premises.
The gunmen reportedly entered the hotel compound and fired three to four rounds in quick succession. The sudden sound of gunshots triggered panic among staff and customers inside the restaurant.
A waiter working at the hotel, identified as Manish Gop, suffered serious injuries during the firing. He later died during treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers arrived on motorcycles and fled moments after the shooting.
CCTV footage from the area has surfaced showing two men approaching the restaurant on a motorcycle. One of them gets down, walks into the hotel and opens fire before escaping. The footage also captures the sharp sound of gunshots as people scramble for safety.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
