
Walkathon to raise awareness on cancers in women

Join the walkathon in Puducherry to raise awareness about cervical and breast cancer and promote women's health.
A walkathon was held recently at Gandhi Thidal to raise awareness on cervical and breast cancer.
The event was organised as part of women-centred health campaign by the Jipmer Women’s Day Celebration Committee (JWDCC) and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
A press note said the walkathon aimed to spread awareness among the public on the importance of early screening, vaccination, lifestyle modifications, and timely treatment for cervical and breast cancers, which are among the most common cancers affecting women.
Vir Singh Negi, Director of Jipmer, flagged off the walkathon in the presence of Vinod Kumar, Medical Superintendent of Jipmer, S. Rangabashiam, Deputy Director (Administration), Bhavana Bade, Chairperson of JWDCC, Jipmer and Hawa Singh, Senior Administrative Officer, Jipmer.
Faculty members, resident doctors, nursing personnel, students, and staff of Jipmer participated.
