
Vodafone Idea revised data shows telco lost 2.3 million subscribers in January

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released Vodafone Idea’s revised telecom subscription data for January which shows the telco lost 2.3 million subscribers. Vodafone Idea had earlier acknowledged its error in reporting the previous numbers which stated that the telco had added 1.7 million subscribers in January. TRAI has then noted that it was examining the numbers and that it was an inadvertent error on Vodafone's side. Vodafone Idea had previously told the regulator that it had added 3.7 million subscribers in UP West telecom circle alone. There are 22 telecom circles in India, out of which the telco reported that it lost subscribers in 18 circles and gained subscribers in four circles. It reported the highest number of subscriber additions in the UP West circle.
