Somali-origin US lawmaker Ilhan Omar was sprayed with an unknown substance during a town hall she was hosting in Minnesota's Minneapolis on Wednesday (local time).
A purported video of the incident surfaced on social media shortly after the incident.

It shows a man walking up to the Democrat as she was addressing the room from the dais.
He is then seen spraying a thin stream of the unknown substance in her direction from a very short range.
The stream, however, seemed to only hit her clothes.
