A middle-aged man was hacked to death in broad daylight in Patna City, in an attack that was captured on CCTV cameras.
The incident took place near Bengali Colony Mor. The footage, which has surfaced online, shows a machete-wielding attacker repeatedly striking the victim before calmly walking away from the spot.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Raees, a resident of Bakshi Maidan in Patna City. He worked as a tailor.
According to police, Raees was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon in a public area during the day, triggering panic among local residents. The CCTV footage is now part of the investigation.
Raees's daughter, Shabnam Khatoon, has accused her cousin of carrying out the murder. She alleged that the accused was a drug addict and alcoholic, and that family members often stopped him from consuming intoxicants. Patna resident Mohammad Raees was attacked in broad daylight.
"He used to say, 'I will kill him', but we did not know he would actually do something like this," Khatoon said.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
