A US travel vlogger's shared a blunt video on Indians' fitness at Jaipur's Amber Fort, where he pointed out how they were out of shape and lazy. The clip led to an online debate on fitness culture and travel stereotypes in India.
A US man shared his honest thoughts on why several Indians appeared out of shape, basing his observations on what he witnessed while walking up and down the steep path leading to the Amber Fort.
The video was shared on Instagram by American travel vlogger Charlie Evans, who captioned the post bluntly: “Indians be lazy sometimes.”
In the video, Evans is seen standing along the Amber Fort pathway, narrating what he claims to have observed during his visit. “I know why Indians are out of shape,” he says at the start of the clip, pointing towards the crowd below.
He then goes on to add, “There’s thousands of people down there, but not too many people made it up.”
As he walks down from the fort, Evans points out how sveral visitors, particularly Indians, appeared to have stopped midway instead of completing the climb. “I’m on my walk down from the Amber Fort, and it is incredible how many Indians are just stranded halfway up,” he says, adding that many people kept asking him how far the top was. “It’s like 20 minutes, but most of them don’t even want to go,” he claims.
The man continues with more honest commentary, saying, “They’re paying to get in, and then they’re stuck halfway up. They’re lazy. That’s what I’m saying.” Doubling down on his point, he adds, “At the beginning of this journey today, I said that Indians are lazy, and this just proves it.”

When we look at Iran through the prism of religion and see a Shia Islamic country, we negate its thousands of years of rich pre-Islamic Persian culture. A dive into the world of Zoroastrianism and Vedas shows us how Indians and Iranians have been sharing languages, Gods, sciences and a sacred fire for thousands of years.
