A video of a 78-year-old man delivering food orders to pay for his wife's medical bills inspired an online fundraising campaign, resulting in an outpouring of support for the Tennessee couple and receiving Rs 4 crore as donations.
A 78-year-old man delivering DoorDash orders in Manchester, Tennessee, has garnered national attention after a video of his delivery led thousands of people to donate nearly $500,000 to support him and his wife, according to a report by the NY Post.
The clip, initially shared by homeowner Brittany Smith, showed Richard Pulley carefully approaching a home to deliver a Starbucks order. The video spread rapidly across social media, touching viewers who wanted to learn more about the man behind the delivery.
Collin Rugg, co-founder of the news platform Trending Politics, also reshared the video on X, explaining the plight of the hardworking delivery man in the post.
In the video, Pulley was seen slowly approaching people's houses and delivering the food at their doorstep, his steps gentle as he placed the food on the ground and slowly walked away.
