US Ambassador Sergio Gor's first visit to Bengaluru included local experiences with BJP MP Tejasvi Surya and discussions on strengthening India-US ties in trade and technology.
A warm plate of masala dosa, strong filter coffee and a late-night auto ride marked US Ambassador Sergio Gor’s first visit to Bengaluru. Hosted by BJP MP Tejasvi Surya, the newly appointed envoy was introduced to what Surya called the ‘real Bengaluru experience’.
Gor, who assumed office as the United States Ambassador to India in January 2026, was welcomed in Indiranagar, where the two began their evening over classic South Indian fare.
From masala dosa to filter coffee, the culinary tour soon extended to a ride in a Namma Auto, giving the ambassador a glimpse of the city’s vibrant nightlife.
In a selfie video shared online, Surya said, “Ambassador, welcome to Bengaluru, India’s best city, most happening city.” Gor responded with equal warmth, saying, “I got the most incredible host right here. I’ve only been in Bengaluru for the first time.”

The profiles of at least three of China's leading nuclear, missile and radar experts were scrubbed from the website of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the country's most prestigious academic body. This comes as a series of purges under Premier Xi Jinping's anti-corruption campaign have decimated the upper echelons of China's military and scientific community.

The aircraft had also been used by senior Iranian officials and military figures for both domestic and international travel, and for coordinating with allied countries, the Israeli military said. Meanwhile, Dubai International Airport has resumed flight operations after a temporary suspension of about seven hours caused by a drone strike near a fuel tank facility.

When we look at Iran through the prism of religion and see a Shia Islamic country, we negate its thousands of years of rich pre-Islamic Persian culture.
