A Holi reunion in Moradabad ended in tragedy as a man allegedly stabbed his twin sister over 40 times and attacked his mother following a breakup. The brutal incident has left the family devastated and the neighbourhood in shock.
A Holi visit meant to bring a family together ended in a chilling killing in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad, where a 25-year-old man allegedly stabbed his twin sister more than 40 times and attacked his mother inside their home after spiralling into depression following a breakup.
Police say the accused, who had fallen in love with a woman he met on Instagram, believed his mother and sister were responsible for the relationship falling apart. The anger eventually erupted into a brutal attack that has left the family shattered.
The incident took place in Buddhi Vihar Colony under the Majhola police station limits in Moradabad.
Neelima, who lives in the colony, works at a health insurance company. Her twin children, Hardik and Himshikha, both 25, lived together in Gurugram where they were working.
The siblings had come to Moradabad to celebrate Holi with their mother and were preparing to return to Gurugram on Friday.
According to police, after the Holi holidays Neelima had left for her office, while Hardik and Himshikha were alone at home.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
