University in MP orders probe after video of girl offering namaz in class goes viral

A central university in MP’s Sagar ordered an investigation after a video of a girl offering namaz in a classroom went viral.

A central university in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar ordered a probe into an incident where a girl was seen offering namaz inside a classroom.

A video of a student of Dr Harisingh Gaur Central University in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar has gone viral. The student can be seen offering namaz, wearing a hijab, inside a classroom. It is said that the student studies in the education department and is in the final year.

After the incident, a Hindu organization wrote to the university administration and demanded a probe into the matter.

Speaking on the issue, the Vice Chancellor of the Central University, Dr Neelima Gupta said, “The matter has come to notice, a committee has been constituted which will present all the facts in front of us. Along with this, it has also been directed to all students that all religious acts are to be done in personal premises or religious places”.

After the student offered Namaz in the university's class room, Hindu organisations reached the university and recited Hanuman Chalisa and said that if such an activity happens again, they will reach the classroom and recite Hanuman Chalisa.
