PM speaks to UAE President Al Nahyan over phone, discusses importance of safe passage through Strait of Hormuz
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said he spoke with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, extending advance Eid greetings and discussing the evolving situation in West Asia.
In a post on X, Modi strongly condemned recent attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates that led to the loss of innocent lives and damage to civilian infrastructure. He reiterated India’s firm stance against such acts of violence.
"I spoke with my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and extended my advance Eid greetings to him." PM Modi said in the post. PM Modi on X
"We discussed the current situation in the West Asia region, and I reiterated India's strong condemnation of all attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and damage to civilian infrastructure." Modi further stated.
Both leaders also emphasised the importance of ensuring the safety and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route.
The two sides agreed to continue working closely to restore peace, security, and stability in the region at the earliest.

As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
