Union Minister Ramdas Athawale condemns attack on Sharad Pawar’s house

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale condemned the attack at NCP leader Sharad Pawar’s residence on April 8.

Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale strongly condemned the attack at the NCP supremo Sharad Pawar’s residence on April 8 by protestors. Ramdas Athawale claimed that the Uddhav Thackeray-led government in Maharashtra is responsible for the attack.

Ramdas Athawale said that Sharad Pawar is not only a senior leader of Maharashtra but also of the country.

“I strongly condemn protesting in front of any political person's house. The problems of the employees of SC/ST division under the government of Maharashtra are justified. Taking the problems of the employees seriously, the Uddhav Thackeray government should have resolved them in time,” Ramdas Athawale said.

Sharad Pawar had said that the employees of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) were being misguided and that the leadership was immature. In response, a group of striking employees of MSRTC staged an angry protest outside Sharad Pawar's house in South Mumbai when the NCP chief was not at home.

Ramdas Athawale called the Uddhav Thackeray government a failure on all fronts. He said that the Maharashtra Police also failed to stop the attack.

The government will have to take strict steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the coming times, the Union minister added.
