7-Eleven expands its Global Solution Centre in Bengaluru, enhancing innovation and technical expertise for global operations and customer experience.
7-Eleven Inc., a Texas-based convenience retail chain that operates 86,000 stores across 20 countries, has significantly expanded its only Global Solution Centre (GSC) in the world, located in Bengaluru.
The U.S. retailer has now broadened the centre by adding 2,32,090 sq. ft to make it a large workspace, comprising a mock store for employee experience.
Malahar Pinnelli, vice-president and country leader, 7-Eleven GSC, told The Hindu that the centre has evolved from an operational support function into a strategic value hub.
“Bengaluru now represents a critical node in 7-Eleven’s global ecosystem, leveraging deep technical expertise and innovation capabilities to build end-to-end digital, data, and operational platforms,” he said, adding that as a result the GSC has been embedded at the core of the enterprise, co-owning global platforms and driving outcomes across technology, finance, and customer experience.
The 7-Eleven’s GSC in Bengaluru, set up in 2020, now employs over 900 professionals. Leveraging India’s deep, multi-skilled talent pool, the GSC was investing in upskilling, leadership development, and apprenticeship programmes to build future-ready leaders, the company said.
In a span of five years, the GSC in India has quickly matured into a multi-domain Centre of Excellence, powering innovation and delivering end-to-end platforms and products that drive measurable operational efficiency and elevate customer experience across global markets, Mr. Pinnelli said.
