A senior police official said the survivor, a second-year engineering student, resided in a hostel on the campus. On Tuesday, she had gone walking with a friend, a fourth-year student on the same campus, after dinner.
According to the police, the complainant stated that when they were in a secluded place on the campus, two unidentified persons physically assaulted her friend before sexually assaulting her.
The survivor filed a complaint with the office of the Kotturpuram Assistant Commissioner of Police, and police personnel, along with the authorities of Anna University, are in the process of examining the CCTV cameras in the varsity.
