Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar are all set to tie the knot on February 21. Farhan's mother, Honey Irani revealed how the couple broke the news of their marriage to them.
Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar were on the list of celebs we wanted to see getting married in 2022. And now, they are tying the knot on February 21. While Farhan and Shibani are yet to announce the wedding, the former’s mother, Honey Irani, spilled the beans on how the couple broke the news about the big decision to them. It was during a family dinner that this happened. Farhan and Shibani have been in a relationship for over four years now.
Ahead of Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar's wedding on February 21, Honey Irani spoke to The Times Of India and said, "It's a joyous occasion and I am looking forward to it. In fact, everyone in the family is looking forward to it. We are very excited." Honey further revealed that the couple had invited them for dinner where they told them about their decision to get married. It happened some time back, she said.
Honey Irani added, "The most important thing is that they are both very happy. I just hope they have a wonderful life; it's really nice to see they are tying the knot now. They were very serious about each other. But frankly, today, couples take some time before making the decision on marriage. We respect that. We are not the interfering types. Shibani and Farhan are both mature. We would have approved of whatever they wanted."
Speaking to Bombay Times about son Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s wedding, Javed Akhtar had earlier shared, “Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain (the rest of the preparations for the wedding) that is being taken care of by the wedding planners.” He further revealed, “Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple affair. Khair abhi tak toh invitations bhi nahi bheje gaye hai (We are yet to send out the invitations).”
A source close to Farhan and Shibani has revealed that the duo will start a new chapter in their life on February 21, 2022. They, on condition of anonymity, said that a wedding is on the cards for Farhan and Shibani. The couple has been discussing wedding plans for a while now and has finally decided to take things to the next level. Farhan and Shibani have decided to exchange formal vows on February 21.
Earlier, IndiaToday.in had exclusively reported that the lovebirds were planning to get married in Goa. They picked the location as Goa is a place close to both of them. But given the surge in Covid-19 cases, Farhan and Shibani have reportedly started hunting for different locations and venues for their big day.
"While one option is that they keep it in India, the second option is to keep it outside (abroad). They are looking at the months of March and April for the wedding. They are hoping that the cases will see a downward trend," an insider had informed IndiaToday.in.
