This Delhi woman is changing what happens to plastic waste after you throw it away

A woman from Delhi is transforming plastic waste into a resource through "Plastic Banks" in schools and awareness drives. Keep reading to find out more about her initiative.
A Delhi woman taught children and even soldiers how plastic is not just garbage, but a resource that can be reused and managed responsibly by recycling it to make furniture.
At the heart of this initiative is environmentalist Dipali Sinha, who has pioneered the concept of “Plastic Banks” in schools, which are spaces where students actively collect and deposit plastic waste from their homes instead of throwing it away.
In several schools across the region, students now arrive not just with books, but with plastic waste collected from their households. Instead of ending up in landfills, this waste is deposited into designated Plastic Banks set up within school premises.
Through this simple yet effective system, children are learning a crucial lesson early on: Plastic is not just waste, but a resource that can be managed, recycled, and repurposed.
Dipali Sinha has already established Plastic Banks in over 40 schools across Delhi-NCR, creating a network of young environmental stewards who are engaging with sustainability in a hands-on way.

The profiles of at least three of China's leading nuclear, missile and radar experts were scrubbed from the website of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the country's most prestigious academic body. This comes as a series of purges under Premier Xi Jinping's anti-corruption campaign have decimated the upper echelons of China's military and scientific community.

The aircraft had also been used by senior Iranian officials and military figures for both domestic and international travel, and for coordinating with allied countries, the Israeli military said. Meanwhile, Dubai International Airport has resumed flight operations after a temporary suspension of about seven hours caused by a drone strike near a fuel tank facility.
