HYDERABAD
The Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Ltd (TGSPDCL) has introduced a WhatsApp chat facility to its consumers for registering complaints, tracking their status, bill-related information, power supply status and any other issue related to power supply.
According to Chairman and Managing Director of the Southern Discom Md. Musharraf Faruqui, consumers can save 8712441912 mobile/WhatsApp number in their smartphones and start using the facility by messaging “hi”. He stated that the new service has been introduced to extend the consumers more efficient and user-friendly services with the help of modern technology.
Officials of the Discom also stated that the new service would help the consumers against falling prey to cyber criminals who would often send messages stating that the bill is pending and if not paid immediately power connection would be cut as the consumers could check the status of their bills instantly on the new service.

The State has made significant strides in infrastructure development, Public Works Department Minister P.A. Muhammed Riyas has said. Virtually inaugurating the Kuttikkanam-Kattappana stretch of the State highway on Sunday, Mr. Riyas noted that 60% of the State’s roads have been upgraded to Bituminous Macadam and Bituminous Concrete (BMBC) standards within the last five years.
