Poor maintenance of fair price shop
A fair price shop has been functioning for a long time in the panchayat office building at Thirunagar in Palani. However, no name board has been installed, leaving residents to wander in search of the outlet to procure essential commodities such as rice and sugar.
The restrooms on the premises are also in a dilapidated condition. The authorities concerned should construct a dedicated building for the ration shop, install proper signage and repair the restrooms without delay.

The State has made significant strides in infrastructure development, Public Works Department Minister P.A. Muhammed Riyas has said. Virtually inaugurating the Kuttikkanam-Kattappana stretch of the State highway on Sunday, Mr. Riyas noted that 60% of the State’s roads have been upgraded to Bituminous Macadam and Bituminous Concrete (BMBC) standards within the last five years.
