The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange and yellow thunderstorm alert in several districts of Telangana for Wednesday (May 14, 2025). The alert warns of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds and hailstorms in certain districts.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, gusty winds (50-60 kmph) and hailstorm — very likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy and Mahabubnagar.
And, similar weather conditions without hailstorm were forecast at isolated places in Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.
A yellow alert for thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds was issued for Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda and Suryapet.
For Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, the IMD for the next 48 hours has forecast generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur in the city towards evening or night. Maximum and minimum Temperatures are likely to be around 36C and 25C respectively.
