
Telangana Chief Minister meets recently surrendered former Maoist leaders

Telangana Chief Minister assures support and rehabilitation for surrendered Maoist leaders, emphasizing peaceful democratic solutions.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy assured surrendered leaders and cadres of the proscribed CPI (Maoist) party that adequate security and rehabilitation benefits would be provided and the government would extend necessary support to enable them to live with dignity.
The Chief Minister on Friday (February 27) met the recently surrendered top CPI Maoist leaders at their request. The Chief Minister held a face-to-face interaction with the former Maoists and congratulated them for joining the social mainstream after spending several years in the forests. He stated that violence cannot provide a lasting solution and that public aspirations can be addressed only through democratic means.
The former cadres thanked the Chief Minister and the government for facilitating their return to mainstream life. They also sought enhancement of relief and rehabilitation packages in line with policies implemented in neighbouring States. The Chief Minister assured to look into their requests.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, Director General of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy, Additional Director General of Police Intelligence Vijay Kumar and Inspector General of Police SIB Intelligence B. Sumathi, Advisor to the Chief Minister Vem Narender Reddy and Advisor to the Government K. Keshava Rao.

Former senior functionaries of the CPI Maoist, including former Central Committee member and Polit Bureau member Tipiri Thirupathi alias Devji, former Central Committee members Malla Raji Reddy alias Sangram, Pulluri Prasad Rao alias Shankaranna , Pothula Padmavathi alias Sujatha, former State Committee member and secretary of the Telangana State Committee Bade Chokka Rao alias Damodar and former State Committee member Nune Narsimha Reddy alias Ganganna, called on the Chief Minister.
