Amid widespread protests in Tamil Nadu, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chief, Priyank Kanoongo, is likely to visit Kallakurichi district on July 27 to inquire into the death of a 17-year-old girl at a private residential school.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch-CID sleuths commenced the probe into the death of the school girl on Tuesday, even as the Chinnasalem police arrested 113 persons in connection with the arson and vandalising of the school, taking the number of those arrested to 241 so far.
The Crime Branch, Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) team used a human-sized doll to analyse the death of the class 12 student who allegedly died by falling off the third floor of the school in Kallakurichi on July 13.

The team, headed by Ziaul Haq, held research to examine the effect of falling from such a height.
The doll was reportedly thrown multiple times from the height and officials were trying to gauge the impact on the doll as it fell from different angles. They were also trying to find out the impact if someone else had pushed it.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to investigate into the July 17 protests in the Kallakurichi district. The development came after the Madras High Court on Monday directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to form a special team to identify the violators, who were captured very well in all the video footage, and bring them before the court of law.
