A technical glitch disrupted the TNPSC Group II and IIA exams on Sunday, leaving hundreds of candidates stranded outside their exam halls. The error, linked to automated hall allotments, triggered protests and ultimately forced the commission to cancel the exams.
In an unexpected turn of events, a technical error in exam hall allocations in Chennai led the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) to call off Sunday’s Combined Civil Services Examination-II (Group II and IIA) midway, leaving thousands of candidates frustrated. The main exam has been postponed, with new dates yet to be announced.
Hundreds of candidates who arrived at the DG Vaishnav College exam centre were reportedly denied entry due to incorrect hall details generated by the system.
The incident led to intense protests outside the venue, forcing TNPSC officials to halt the examinations.
According to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission, the error occurred due to an automation fault, which caused the misallocation of exam halls.
The commission has assured that fresh dates for the exams will be announced soon and urged candidates to stay updated via official channels.
The cancellation comes as a major inconvenience for aspirants, many of whom had prepared extensively for the competitive exams. TNPSC has not yet shared a revised schedule but is expected to release official updates shortly.
