TVK refutes rumors of an alliance with NDA, confirming plans to contest all 234 Assembly constituencies in upcoming elections.
Amid speculation that actor-politician Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) was examining the possibility of joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the upcoming Assembly elections, multiple sources in the party dismissed it on Friday (March 13, 2026). They dubbed media reports in this regard as “rumours”.
According to party sources, a meeting of TVK district secretaries was held through video conference on Friday (March 13, 2026), in which the party’s senior office-bearers also participated. During the meeting, some members were learnt to have discussed the possibility of joining the NDA.
However, second-line leaders in the TVK dismissed it as “mere rumours”. According to them, the party has already begun preparations to contest the elections in all the 234 Assembly constituencies.
