Regupathy claims CBI's summons to Senthilbalaji is an intimidation tactic against the DMK amid ongoing investigations.
Minister for Natural Resources S. Regupathy on Friday alleged the summons issued by the Central Bureau of Investigation to former Minister and DMK MLA V. Senthilbalaji in the Karur stampede case was an act of intimidating the DMK.
Speaking to journalists at Pudukottai, Mr. Regupathy said Mr. Senthilbalaji had not committed any “sin” or “wrong” other than visiting the hospital to meet the persons injured in the stampede. The DMK would not be cowed down by such actions, he said, adding that Mr. Senthilbalaji would face it boldly.
Dismissing allegations made by the Opposition, Mr. Regupathy claimed the law and order situation in the State was “good”. Replying to a query on the recent murder of a minor girl in Thoothukudi district, Mr. Regupathy claimed although such incidents were reported “here and there,” Tamil Nadu was a “safe” State in the country.
