Tamil Nadu CM Stalin inaugurates Cuddalore-Madapattu section of State highway

Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin inaugurates upgraded Cuddalore-Madapattu State Highway, enhancing connectivity and benefiting 24 villages.
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Wednesday inaugurated through video conferencing, the upgraded Cuddalore-Madapattu section of State Highway.
A sum of ₹428.59 crore was spent for the project, which was carried out by the State Highways Department (Project Wing) with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank.
The overall length of the highway is 37.36 km, of which 33.87 km falls in Cuddalore district, 2.88 km in Villupuram district and 0.610 km in Kallakurichi district. A total of 21.18 hectares of land was acquired for the project and a compensation of ₹33 crore was provided to the landowners.
The State Highway includes one major bridge, one road over bridge, four minor bridges, 74 culverts, six major junctions, 38 minor junctions, 35 bus shelters with toilet facilities, 849 street lights, 110 solar blinkers, and seven high mast lights. A total of 8,770 saplings have been planted on both sides of the road.
The highway will benefit residents of 24 villages from the three districts and reduce their travel time remarkably.
