Suntera Pawar accepts proposal to be Maharashtra Deputy CM after husband Ajit Pawar's death: Sources
Sunetra Pawar has accepted the proposal to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra following the death of her husband Ajit Pawar, sources said.
She will continue to hold the Excise and Sports ministries, while Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will take charge of the Finance Ministry ahead of the upcoming budget session.
According to sources, senior party leaders proposed Sunetra Pawar’s elevation to the post of Deputy Chief Minister to set the party’s direction ahead of the Pune Zilla Parishad elections scheduled for February 7. After discussions within the Pawar family, Sunetra Pawar agreed to the proposal.
