Sniffer dog wing welcomes puppy ‘Brownie’
The sniffer dog wing of Tirunelveli City Police received one more member on Thursday as Commissioner of Police Deshmukh Shekhar Sanjay inducted a puppy into the force.
Mr. Shekhar also christened the red and rust puppy as ‘Brownie’.
While the bomb detection and disposal squad has sniffer dogs ‘Remo’ and ‘Cooper’, ‘Bharani’ is useful for detecting criminal offences and ‘Lucky’ is handy for identifying narcotic substances. Hence, ‘Brownie’ is the fifth member to join this family.
The Commissioner of Police urged the trainers to carefully maintain the dogs and train them meticulously.
Deputy Commissioner, Tirunelveli East S. Vijayakumar was present.
