The New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) marked a milestone with the arrival of MT Apollo Ocean, an LPG tanker, at Berth No. 13 on Thursday, at 4 p.m., which is recognised as the 40,000th vessel to call at the Port since its inception.

On this occasion, NMPA Deputy Chairperson S. Shanthi felicitated the Captain of the vessel and officially welcomed the ship, commemorating the milestone achievement. Senior officials of NMPA were present during the welcome ceremony.
The vessel, MT Apollo Ocean, is scheduled to offload 16,000 tonnes of LPG at the Port, further strengthening NMPA’s role in handling essential energy cargo and supporting regional industrial and domestic demand, a release said.
The arrival of the 40,000th vessel marks another landmark in NMPA’s journey of growth and operational excellence, reaffirming its position as a key maritime gateway on the west coast of India.
