However, the total volume of the Budget, including the opening balance of ₹307.83 crore and ₹ 629.85 crore (estimated as receipts), stands at ₹ 937.68 crore.
The estimated expenditure is at ₹781.51 crore and the final balance (surplus) stands at ₹156.17 crore.
Mr. Darshan, also the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, said that the civic body expects ₹127.83 crore revenue as property tax, advertisement and khata transfer fees during 2026-27.
The MCC collected ₹141.15 crore revenue as property tax, advertisement and khata transfer fees against the expectation of ₹121.63 crore during 2025-26, thus achieving 126.03 % progress, he said.
Mr. Darshan said that the civic body expects ₹57.65 crore from water bill and UGD cess during 2026-27. It collected ₹ 47.64 crore in the same head of account against the target of ₹ 57.60 crore during 2025-26.
